The mission of the Akron Urban League is to improve the quality of life of the citizens of Summit County, particularly African Americans, by advocating and facilitating programs that are economically and educationally transformational, impacting their lives and the lives of future generations.
Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences is the only health care system affiliated college in northeast Ohio and has the longest-running nursing education program in northeast Ohio. The college is focused on preparing students to become successful practitioners and leaders in the health care field. Aultman College offers a variety of health care degrees at the associate’s and bachelor’s levels, the College Credit Plus program for high school students, and community education courses. A private, nonprofit institution, Herzing University has built a supportive community of faculty, staff and students. Stark State College, with a service district of Stark and Summit counties, is the fourth largest of the 23 public two-year colleges in the University System of Ohio.
