Patient Access Certificate Program
Patient Access representatives serve an important role at healthcare facilities as the first point of contact when a patient calls or walks into the office. They are responsible for answering the phone, scheduling appointments, and in some cases, patient billing duties.
A Patient Access Certificate demonstrates that an individual has completed core education in business and office functions, healthcare environment and terminology, customer service, and ethics.
Smart Start with Herzing University:
- Each program participant applies to work as a Patient Access Liaison in our Call Center. Patient Access Liaisons answer incoming calls for physician offices, schedule patient appointments, and assist patients with other communication needs.
- When not working in the Call Center, the program participant attends a fully paid online certificate program with Herzing University which focuses on business, ethics and customer service education earning several college credits.
- After graduation, Summa Health will work with each program participant on their future career goals while they fulfill a one-year work commitment at Summa Health.
