Plants, flowers, gifts and snacks may be purchased in several locations throughout Summa Health System.
Summa Health System - Akron Campus
Gift shops are operated on behalf of the hospitals by volunteers from the Women's Board of Summa Health System. The gift shops raise tens of thousands of dollars annually for patient-care initiatives. Before making your purchase, please reference the policy regarding plants, flowers and balloons on the respective unit where your loved one is a patient.
Please note that, as of March 12, 2020, the Akron Campus Gift Shop is located at the H-Tower, across from Starbucks. One of the largest hospital gift shops in Northeast Ohio, it features an expanded line of designer handbags, home décor, men’s gift collections, women’s clothing, jewelry, baby apparel, gifts for pets, Summa wear, stationery, and much more.

Summa Health System reflection centers are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Patients, family members and guests may visit the reflection centers for prayer and personal spiritual practice. The also offer visitors the opportunity to write prayers and prayer requests.
The Reflection Center at Summa Health System - Akron Campus is located on the first floor near the Central Lounge.
The Reflection Center at Summa Health System - Barberton Campus is located on the second floor between the central and south elevators.
Automated Teller Machines (ATM)
For your convenience, ATMs are located on each hospital campus of Summa Health System.
Telecommunications devices (TDD) are available for hearing and/or speech impaired patients and guests at three Summa Health System hospitals: Summa Health System - Akron Campus and Summa Health System - St. Thomas Campus and Summa Health System - Barberton Campus. If you would like to use a TDD unit, please ask your nurse. Summa Health Wadsworth-Rittman Medical Center has a phone interpreter system and internet relay for hearing impaired patients with TTY equipment. Upon request, the hospital will obtain sign language interpreters from an agency at no cost to the patient.
Interpreters
Interpreters are available for the translation of sign language and foreign languages. If you need an interpreter, please ask your nurse for assistance.
