Summa Health Wadsworth-Rittman Emergency Department features a full-service emergency room, emergency care department and clinical decision unit (CDU). The CDU, staffed by specialized ED nurses and physicians, cares for “observation” patients – those who need prolonged monitoring and treatment to help determine if they should be admitted to the hospital or discharged home. Designed to enhance patient and family privacy, comfort and safety, the unit features private rooms complete with beds, extra seating, televisions and bathroom accessibility. Summa Health Wadsworth-Rittman Emergency Department provides access to the First Step Addiction Treatment Program.
