The disciplines that make up our team include physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, aides, social workers, spiritual care coordinators, massage therapists, and volunteers.

What is Hospice?

Hospice is a holistic approach to caring for people who are very ill.  It involves a team of trained professionals, available 24 hours a day, who provide medical attention, pain management and emotional and spiritual support tailored to an individual's needs and wishes.

We also offer the following services to our patients:

  • Pharmacist-provided medication management consultation and oversight
  • Massage therapy for symptom management
  • Clinical psychology, complementary and alternative medicine therapies

Grief Support

In addition to caring for the patient, hospice teams also provide compassion and support to loved ones during the illness and the grieving process. Our hospice team focuses on delivering medical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual support, most of which is provided in the patient’s own home. This approach enables families to remain together where they are most comfortable.

At Summa Health Hospice, we have been providing uncompromising quality care to terminally ill patients and the people who love and care for them. Our hospice services allow patients and their families to maximize each and every day, while we help to fill in the gaps with individually designed patient care plans and a supportive network of medical professionals and volunteers.
