Revere Health is proud to support many of our local schools in offering externship opportunities for their students. Some of the most common externships offered are for students completing a certificate in medical assisting, medical office, medical coding and physical therapy aide programs.

• How to Apply

  To apply for an externship with Revere Health, please complete the provided externship application and confidentiality form. Send the completed forms along with a copy of your resume and school-issued photo ID to educationalopportunities@reverehealth.com. Your application will be reviewed then made available to the various departments. Department or office managers interested in hosting a student will reach out directly to the student to discuss possible opportunities.

  Externships are NOT given on a first-come first-served basis and are NOT guaranteed for requested departments or locations. If an educational affiliation agreement is not in place between the school and Revere Health, extra time may be required for processing.

• Instructions

  Each student will need to contact the office of the provider with which they are interested in doing a rotation; please see below for a list of contacts. Once the provider has agreed to participate as a preceptor, and verified the dates they are eligible, an affiliation agreement must be put in place between the student’s school and Revere Health.

At Revere Health we do our best to offer shadowing opportunities to as many students as possible. Please be aware that our providers are limited to days of the week and times, therefore, we will not be able to accommodate all requests.

  To apply for a shadowing opportunity with Revere Health, please complete the provided shadowing application and confidentiality form. Send the completed forms along with a copy of your student ID to educationalopportunities@reverehealth.com. Your application will be reviewed and a quick background check will be completed. Once cleared for shadowing the Educational Opportunities Coordinator will reach out with instructions on setting up a shadowing opportunity.

• Administration Shadowing

  We schedule shadowing for very few students in administration. Because the demand for adminstrative shadowing is extremely high, we limit hours scheduled through administration to only 12 shadowing hours per student.

• FAQ
  • Students must be at least 18 years of age and enrolled in a school that Revere Health has an active affiliation agreement with.
  • Student application and confidentiality documents are valid for 1 years from date of signing.
  • Students must dress appropriately in business attire. No jeans and no scrubs are allowed.
  • Students will wear student badge visibly at all times and relinquish badge to office at end of scheduled shadowing.
  • Electronic devices must remain out of sight and use during shadowing visits.
  • Students are required to give a minimum of 48 hours’ notice if unable to attend scheduled appointment.
  • Please be aware that a provider’s schedule may change at very short notice. We will do our best to communicate cancellations as quickly as possible.
  • Violation of rules or procedures in any way may result in the cancellation of future shadowing appointments.
  • Shadowing opportunities are for OBSERVING ONLY. There will be no hands-on activity nor care by the student.
  • Permission must be obtained from each patient prior to student’s presence during appointment.
