Do I need an appointment?

No, you do not need an appointment. We understand that, often times, you are unable to secure an appointment with your personal or family physician when an injury or illness suddenly strikes, and using a Summa Health Urgent Care center is a practical alternative in such situations.

What are the advantages of using Summa Health Urgent Care  versus a hospital emergency room?

Summa Health Urgent Care is a perfect alternative to an emergency room for medical problems that are not life threatening but need immediate attention. An urgent care center insures professional and personal care can be administered quickly, even without an appointment.

Additionally, Summa Health Urgent Care centers are conveniently located in the communities that they serve, offering a cost-effective alternative when urgent medical care is needed.

If I have a work related injury, should I go to Urgent Care?

If you have a non-life threatening work related injury, we encourage you to visit one of our Summa Health Corporate Health locations for treatment. If the injury is life threatening, call 9.1.1. or go to an emergency room as soon as possible for care.

You will not need a referral to see a Summa Health Urgent Care physician.

What if Summa Health Urgent Care does not participate with my health insurance provider?

Your health insurance provider likely offers out-of-network benefits, which may be comparable to your network benefits. If Summa Health Urgent Care does not participate with your health insurance provider, payment is required at time of service. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash or personal check. We will provide you with an itemized statement, upon request, that you may use to file a claim with your insurance provider. You will receive notification from your health insurance provider advising you of how they processed your claim.

What if I do not have healthcare coverage?

Under insured or self-pay patients will be provided our 15% discount on the their services. Payment is expected to be paid at time of service. Summa Health Urgent Care accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, cash or personal check. 

If payment in full is not able to be paid at the time of service, a minimum payment of $50.00 will be collected and the balance will be sent by statement to the patient. We also may provide our patients with a Financial Assistance application to be completed for consideration.
