Don’t let tendon pain hold you back.

Do simple tasks cause your shoulder, elbow, knee or foot pain? If you’ve been suffering for three months or longer then you may have chronic tendon pain.

Summa Health Orthopedic Institute is offering a new, breakthrough technology for the treatment of chronic tendon pain. Tenex Health TX® uses ultrasound imaging and ultrasonic energy to target damaged and degenerated tendon tissue. It’s then removed through a minimally invasive procedure.

It has been clinically proven to improve tendonitis in the elbow, shoulder, hip, knee and ankle and plantar fasciitis pain in the foot, dramatically decreasing pain and improving overall functionality– all without the need for traditional open surgery or arthroscopic surgery.

Benefits include:

  • Quick, simple outpatient procedure that typically doesn’t require general anesthesia
  • Only damaged tissue targeted
  • No stitches needed.
  • One treatment is typically enough.
  • Typical recovery is 6-8 weeks – 1/4 the recovery time compared to open surgery.
  • Only 0.001% of Tenex Health TX® patients have experienced complications.

Here’s how it works. Ultrasound imaging is used to visualize and identify the specific location of the damaged tendon tissue. Once the source of your tendon pain is identified, the physician will numb the area with a local anesthetic, allowing you to stay awake the entire time. Many people say after the numbing process they felt only a slight pressure during the procedure (if they felt anything at all).

Ultrasonic energy is used to safely breakdown and remove the damaged tissue. The ultrasonic energy is applied with the TX MicroTip, which requires only a micro incision to reach the damaged tissue. Because the incision is so small and the ultrasonic energy precisely treats only the damaged tendon tissue, the surrounding healthy tissue is left unharmed.
