AKRON, Ohio, January 19, 2023 – Summa Health announced today that the Akron and Barberton Campuses are receiving the Healthgrades 2023 America’s 100 Best Hospitals Award™. This places Summa Health in the top two percent of hospitals in the nation for exhibiting clinical excellence year over year.
The Healthgrades America’s Best Hospitals achievements are based on an objective review of clinical outcomes across multiple conditions and procedures, analyzing the performance of nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide. America’s Best Hospitals deliver better outcomes than 95 percent of hospitals in the nation.
According to Healthgrades, Summa Health ranks #1 in Ohio for neurosciences and cranial neurosurgery and ranks #2 in stroke care. For the State Ranking analysis, Healthgrades evaluated clinical performance for nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide, focusing on 18 key specialties across a mix of chronic, urgent, and surgical specialty areas. Hospitals recognized as top-ranked in their state by Healthgrades are providing patients with consistently better-than-expected clinical outcomes.
