AKRON, Ohio, January 26, 2023 – The Summa Health Board of Directors this week announced the appointments of two new members, Dr. Steven M. Gorsuch and Randy Langenderfer.

 

Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Gorsuch is partner and vice president of Women's Health Group, Inc. and has served as division chief of gynecology at Summa Health since 2011. As a clinical associate professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), Gorsuch has been involved in medical education at both NEOMED and Summa Health for two decades. He received Summa's Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award for 2014-2015 and, in 2019, was recognized as the Summa John N. Hutzler Jr., MD “Teacher of the Year.” Gorsuch completed his residency at Summa Health and earned his doctorate of medicine at NEOMED. He is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Ohio State Medical Association. 

 

Langenderfer is a financial and audit executive with strong compliance, information technology security, financial and operational management experience. He currently serves as vice president, chief of compliance, audit officer of IT security at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He began his tenure at Baylor in 2013 as vice president of audit and quickly assumed responsibility for all compliance, privacy and information technology functions. Prior to his role at Baylor, he served as global audit and compliance director at Veyance Technologies, Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of industrial conveyer belts. During his tenure at Veyance, Langenderfer oversaw all global financial, operational and information system audit activities. Langenderfer has also held positions at University Hospitals, Promedica Health System and Marathon Oil Company.
