Kace: What brought me to Summa Pride Health Clinic originally was my transgender healthcare. Immediately I felt at home, everybody was just so welcoming. They made me feel comfortable and respected, I love the team there. They're great.
I was suffering from endometriosis for several years prior. They referred me to Megan Cesta in Gynecology, and Dr. Welch in Colorectal. Dr. Cesta is the one who performed my laparoscopic procedure and now we are monitoring my condition. I feel great and I look forward to more days with no pain.
One of the things I like best about the Pride Clinic is that I have access to all the healthcare providers in Summa Health. I have the best healthcare. I just feel like a kid again, you know? I got that spirit back and I'm just happy to be a patient here. I feel heard. I feel welcome.

Erin: I was living a very traditional life. I had a son, I had a house, I was married and had my career and yet I was questioning my identity. After my relationship ended, I finally had the time to explore myself and after some soul searching, I realized I'm transgender. That's who I am deep down and I needed medical help to help me transition.
I heard about Summa's Pride Clinic, some of the friendliest, nicest people. They can guide me on hormones and everything I should expect as I transition. I'm genuinely happy in my life, I get to be who I am. And Summa's Pride Clinic has helped me with that transition.
I have a long journey ahead for sure and it's great to know that I'm gonna have people like Pam and Carson and Dr. Hamler, especially to help me along the way. That means the world to me.

Excited to live his life as the person he truly is

Jason: I first started struggling with my gender identity in my younger teens, and that caused me a lot of anxiety and depression when I was younger, and I struggled with that for years. But then I came upon Summa Pride Clinic and they got me on the path to transitioning.
Before I arrived to Summa Pride Clinic, I was terrified. As soon as I walked through the doors, all those fears went away. With my first visit with Dr. Hamler, he genuinely wanted to know who I was as a person, and he wanted to get me where I needed to go. The team at the Pride Clinic have been amazing, from Carson, he sets up my appointments, to my nurse, Pam, who has honestly felt like a second mother to me. They made me excited and not so scared of the process.
If someone's watching, they know that this is a good place that you can go and that there's a trusted person that you can rely on. The Pride Clinic has honestly changed my life. I am excited to live my life as Jason, as who I actually am.
