Summa Health Orthopedic Institute has one of only seven orthopedic oncologists practicing in the state of Ohio. As one of the few orthopedic oncologists in the state, Scott D. Weiner, M.D., sees patients from an area that encompasses northern Ohio, western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia.
As an orthopedic oncologist, Dr. Weiner specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of primary benign and malignant tumors of the bones.
Dr. Weiner treats metastatic cancer (usually in the elderly), bone sarcomas (mostly in children, adolescents and young adults), soft tissue sarcomas, spine tumors and benign tumors (across all age groups).
Care is coordinated with the Summa Health Jean & Milton Cooper Pavilion at Summa Health System – Akron Campus, so patients have access to comprehensive treatment options. In addition, Summa Health has well-regarded palliative care and hospice programs.
