Specially trained sleep technologists explain the process of a sleep study, answer questions, and monitor the brain waves, heart rate, and other activities of the patient during the study. Sleep physicians, board-certified or board-qualified in internal medicine and sleep medicine, interpret the test results and recommend the proper course of treatment. Either a sleep physician or a primary care physician can refer you for a sleep study. With Summa you have access to nationally known sleep medicine physicians who treat hundreds of patients who experience a wide range of sleep disorders each year. They have special training in treatment options, additional medications and behavioral therapy.

Physicians at Summa Sleep Medicine Services are nationally recognized by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and are committed to better outcomes. The sleep centers participate in national sleep research studies and serve as clinical sites for sleep students at universities throughout the U.S.
