The Summa Health Cancer Institute's multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment includes teams of oncologists, surgeons, radiologists, interventional radiologists, pulmonologists, researchers, pathologists, health psychologists, palliative care, advanced nurses and a specialized support staff. All members of skilled teams work together to provide patients, their families and caregivers with individualized support through all phases of the cancer experience.

Breast Oncology Specialists

We offer patients coordinated access to high-quality, personalized care for any breast concern – from benign conditions to abnormal mammograms to diagnosis, treatment and survivorship of breast cancer.

Colorectal Oncology Specialists

Our colorectal surgery specialists are physicians specially trained in surgery of the colon and rectum. The only board-certified colorectal surgeons in Summit County practice exclusively at Summa Health.

Urologic Oncology Specialists

Our urology specialists are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers in the urinary tract in both men and women, and in the testicles, prostate and penis of the male reproductive system.

Thoracic Oncology Specialists

Summa Health’s cardiothoracic surgeons specialize in surgeries of the thoracic cavity, including procedures for lungs, esophagus, heart and other organs in the chest.

Gynecologic Oncology Specialists

Our team of gynecologic oncologists specializes in treating cancers of the female reproductive organs.

Hematology/Oncology Specialists

These physicians specialize in diagnosing and treating cancer using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy and biological therapy. A medical oncologist often is the main healthcare provider for someone who has cancer.

Orthopedic Oncology Specialist

This physician specializes in the diagnoses and treatment of primary benign and malignant tumors of the bones.

Palliative Specialists

Focusing on the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of the patient, our palliative care specialists work to achieve the best quality of life available by relieving suffering and controlling pain and symptoms.

Radiation Oncology Specialists

These specialists use high-tech radiation techniques to treat cancer.

Lung/Pulmonology Specialists

Pulmonologists are key members of the multidisciplinary team that can perform tests and biopsies, and treat patients who have respiratory issues related to lung cancer.

Head & Neck Oncology Specialists

Our physicians specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of Head and Neck Cancers.

Gastroenterology Specialists

Gastroenterologists may assist in the diagnosis of a digestive cancer. They have extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine (colon) and biliary system (e.g. liver, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts).

Support Services Specialists

The Support Services Team assists patients and their families with all of their needs including financial information, dietary needs, information and education, and emotional and physical needs.
