Kathy Blake, RN, MSN, NE-BC

Senior Vice President, Post-Acute Care

Kathy Blake, RN, MSN, NE-BC, is the Senior Vice President (SVP) for Summa’s Post-Acute Care (PAC) division. In this position, Kathy provides strategic planning and leadership for Summa’s high-performing, quality-driven PAC network ensuring a safe discharge plan has been established resulting in a seamless transition to the next best level of care based on each patient’s needs. The PAC network includes partnerships or collaborations with home care, hospice, home infusion, inpatient rehab hospital, long-term acute care and skilled nursing facilities.

Kathy also provides administrative and clinical leadership for Summa’s integrated care management services, including acute, ambulatory and enhanced care management program oversight, and the Complex Care Institute which provides geriatric, palliative and complex care programs designed to meet the needs of the most vulnerable and clinically and socially complex patients.

Kathy joined Summa Health in 2011 and prior to her current role, Kathy held other positions including the VP for Seniors Institute, the neuroscience service line, and respiratory care services.

Kathy is a seasoned healthcare professional with 36 years of experience and 28 years where she has held progressive leadership positions. Prior to joining Summa Health, Kathy spent 25 years at University Hospitals of Cleveland and held many positions during that time. Her most recent positon was that of the CNO for University Hospitals Bedford Medical Center. Kathy earned her BSN from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio, and her MSN, with a focus on nursing leadership, from the California University of Pennsylvania in California, PA.
