Bio	Joseph “Joey” McGovern, DNP obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing at the University of Utah College of Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice at the Brigham Young University College of Nursing. He is board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and specializes in behavioral health. Joey speaks fluent English and Spanish. Joey was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was 17 years old. His firsthand experience with diabetes led him to pursue a career in medicine. Joey worked at the Timpanogos Hospital ICU as a critical care nurse for five years before completing his doctorate degree in diabetes care. He enjoys caring for all general healthcare needs and seeing improvement in his patients. Joey understands the importance of the doctor-patient relationship and likes to collaborate with his patients to determine the best medical decisions for their long-term health. When he is not in the office, Joey loves spending time with his family, camping, and hiking.

Joey McGovern is super awesome. He's very knowledgeable in this field of medicine, well trained & helpful, He has excellent "bedside manner" and he 100% cares for all of his patients! This office is my PCP & there is only Dr. Tomco, Joey & Emily who I will see. All 3 of them are awesome!!! 98% of the time I see Joey which is fantastic! Also, he is readily available! Very efficient

Very efficient at listing and then solving the health problem. Its nice to have someone making you feel your knowledge of the issue was heard and helps with the treatment. No acuard questions are to big for this team. Dr. McGovern is a great doctor and person.

DR. McGovern is a great doctor and person. He cares so much about your personal well being and doesn’t just try and cover up the symptoms but works to find a resolution. I fell like he has become a good friend that if o saw in daily life I would be able to say hi and start and carry on a conversation. It’s hard to find a Doctor who understands what your going through even though they haven’t been through it them selves. I’ve had many horrible accidents and Joey has helped me find a safe responsible way to manage my pain without having to be on heavy amounts of meds. If your looking for a doctor who cares and will spend the time to listen to you opinions and offer their own as well to find a happy medium this is the place. Thanks Joey!!!
