Car Seat Safety Class

In 2015, a hospital study found that nearly all families (95%) made at least one error in either positioning of the infant or installation of the car safety seat when taking a newborn home from the hospital.

During this class, you will have hands-on practice to gain experience positioning an infant correctly in a car seat.  This class is all about keeping your baby safe in a car.  We will discuss proper cold weather clothing, common car seat installation errors and the dangers of using aftermarket products.  Current recommendations by the American Academy of Pediatrics will be reviewed.  Car seat installation with a Certified Passenger Safety Technician will also be provided.

This is also a great class for grandparents who will be caring for your little one.

Cost: $20.00 per couple

We recommend this class to be taken four to ten weeks prior to your due date.  Please bring the car seat or seats into the class that you intend on using with your child.  If you do not have a car seat by the time of your class, there will be car seats available to practice with during class.

Individuals who have pre-existing conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, the elderly, pregnancy, and immunocompromised status, etc., and individuals who are unvaccinated or not up to date with vaccines places one at greater risk of acquiring/transmitting the disease. We recommend masking and social distancing with any event.

• Cough
• Shortness of breath
• Difficulty breathing
• Chills 
• Headache
• Sore throat
• Loss of taste or smell

Only one name per couple needs to register. Bring car seat(s) with you to class.
