Benjamin Sutton is Chief Operating Officer for Summa Health, a $1.4 billion integrated healthcare delivery system in Akron, Ohio. At Summa, Ben leads strategic planning and business development activities across the health system – including marketing and communications – as well as performance improvement efforts, including oversight of Summa’s Lean-Six Sigma and Performance Management teams. He also provides administrative leadership for Summa’s Clinical Access Center, Facilities Construction, Property Management and the centralized Credentialing and Verification Office.
Prior to joining Summa in 2006, Ben was a consultant in the Strategies & Networks practice at Medimetrix Consulting in Cleveland, Ohio. At Medimetrix, he worked on strategic planning for a wide range of healthcare organizations across the country with a focus on integrated delivery systems. In 2012, he completed the Advisory Board Company’s two-year Academy Fellowship Program. Additionally, Crain’s Cleveland Business highlighted him on its “Who to Watch in Health Care” list in January 2014.
Ben has an undergraduate degree in Mathematics & Economics from Denison University in Granville, Ohio. He has also earned an MBA in Corporate Finance from Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
